METALS ARE MADE TO BE MIXED!
The rule of only wearing matching metals is as archaic as “no white after Labor Day.” People are becoming more experimental with their fashion choices, breaking the rule of matching metals, especially right now when jewelry stacking is one of the biggest trends. That is why today we decided to talk about how to stack different jewelry pieces for a put-together yet effortless look.
The most important rule: do not consider your wedding and engagement rings. These pieces are timeless, and you are wearing them every day. If they are made from white gold it does not mean, that you must wear white gold jewelry all the time now.
You do not always have to create a 50/50 blend of your metals, simply adding a piece or two of an extra color can add style to your look.
Always remember, that it is totally fine to ignore most hardware details, for example zippers, hinges, and buckles on your clothing, unless it is a focal point.
Have a “bridge” piece – it is a piece of jewelry that has both yellow gold and white gold in its design. This way, your yellow gold jewelry matches a part of it, and your white gold jewelry matches another part of it.
Layer your jewelry pieces in an intentional way. For example, wear white gold and yellow gold bangles, or wear 2 or 3 necklaces of different lengths and different metals.
Despite everything we said above, there are no hard rules when it comes to mixing metals, so just have fun with unexpected pairings and forget about any restrictions.
